Summer Recipes Foods that make us glow.

You will love these perfect summer dips. These recipes have been tried and tested in the Spa Chappelle Kitchen - created by our very own CEO and Founder, Shannon Chappelle.

 

Avocados are a true beauty elixir for our skin. It's a healthy fat, high in antioxidants, and contains lutein which helps protect your skin from UV damage.

 

Guacamole with Roasted Tomatillos 

4 tomatillos 

3 large avocados

1/2 cup white onion diced

1/2 cup cilantro

3 T of fresh lime juice or more to taste

1/4 tsp of Himalayan sea salt or more to taste.

 

Method:

Remove the outer skin from the tomatillos, roasted the top and bottom under the oven broiler for 6-8 minutes each side. The tomatillos will blacken in spots. Take out and let cool completely.

Mix all ingredients together but do not over mix. Serve with your favorite tortillas chips or homemade crackers.

Roasted Garlic Hummus

 

10 cloves of garlic - I usually use 1 whole head.

2 T of tahini

1/2  tsp of sea salt or more to taste

4 T of cold-pressed organic olive oil plus more for topping and coating garlic.

3 T of fresh lemon juice

1 can of chickpeas 400 ml (reserve some liquid and add if needed for desired consistency)

1/2 tsp of cumin (optional)

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds, Hungarian Paprika and Olive Oil for toppings.-10

 

Method:

Leave the peelings on the garlic cloves, coat with olive oil, wrap in tin foil, and bake at 400 for 45 minutes. Once cooled, add to a food processor with all other ingredients. Blend until smooth and creamy. Put the mixture into your favorite serving bowl and top with extra olive oil, roasted pumpkin seeds, and paprika. Serve with your favorite chips or veggies!
